Our recent changes of medication are working! Hallelujah (sp.?)! Dizziness is waning. Enough so, I can begin organization I've been unable to do since November. I'm gaining perspective on where my fingers, hands, arms, toes, feet, and legs are. In another couple weeks, I will attempt washing dishes. So far, no progress with home help. I really need it-there are functions I simply can not do. I will continue pursuing.
I'm working hard to keep nausea from arising again. That means absolutely MINIMAL head movement, no head turning, no head pivoting, no head moving up and down (nodding), and continuing efforts to ALWAYS crouch, instead of bend. This is quite difficult. If I bend, it can take myself out of the picture for hours, even days.
While driving, my head remains straight. I utilize ear plugs and minimize dizziness and nausea with such tools as wraparound sunglasses, blinders, and wide-brimmed hats to minimize unnecessary peripheral information and to not overwhelm my brain.
I do, rest assured, receive all essential information. None of my aids eliminate input, they just reduce it to manageable levels. Safe levels are helped by driving slowly and deliberately.
Plus, I've always utilized two side mirrors in every vehicle driven, with my head straight. We need no adjustments here. My three mirrors are focused so precisely, I never miss anything to the back or side, and I never have to pivot my head. Doing so would incapacitate me for an hour or two.
Pivoting my eyes is difficult. I do eye exercises every day. They make me sick, but the are, I believe, very gradually improving my ability to pivot them without getting too sick, as long as my head remains unmoved. If I do get sick, I pull over and take a nap. I'm extremely careful, as I love myself, TiggerBlue the backseat dog pilot, and Happy Hippo, our 30-year-old Subaru hatchback.
I'm now working on arising carefully. For example, it takes about a half-hour to get out of bed.
I forget how important my arising from bed protocols are, when arising from my easy chair. I rise too fast, fall back into the chair, enter wooziness for quite a while, and often, as I breathe as deep as possible, enter nap states. I stay put, until I am absolutely certain I won't fall over upon rising. I'm tired of breaking bones. When necessary, I utilize my wheel chair or trekking poles.
If attempting ANY type of pivots, I MUST remember to utilize extremely tiny Japanese tea server steps. If I forget and pivot rapidly, I fall. Again, I'm tired of breaking bones. Moving backwards is entirely out of the question, under ANY circumstance.
I work and live carefully, focusing almost exclusively on slowing all movement by a guestimated two-thirds. Along with no head pivots or bending, this is the key to keeping the dizziness and nausea at levels that allow me to work. If I maintain meds' regimens, I can function for up to 12 hours consecutively. That is rarely. I can tell in an instant when I am unsafe. I break things, because I don't know where my arms, legs, and body are. I take a 90-minute nap.
Depth perception is bad. I can handle stairs fairly safely, but I must close my eyes and descend entirely by slowly and very carefully feeling all sensory input from toes feet, legs, fingers, hands, and arms. This is the only safe method for descending any stairs anywhere. Panicking and getting my eyes involved is a recipe for disaster.
I'm as careful as a mountaineer on the Matterhorn. Descending, I take as much time as necessary, securing excellent handholds and placing each foot parallel to its stairstep, instead of perpendicular. This consumes a LOT of time, but I simply can not sustain any more broken bones.
Ascending, with the best footplants carefully secured and utilizing carefully assessed and proven hand holds, tested capable of sustaining my full weight, takes only an guestimated 20 percent of careful work, compared to the 100 percent required by descending.
With steps, I can't carry anything. My handholds are too important.
On my wheelchair ramp, I can carry light things. I still utilize both ramp railings, but the gradualness of the ramp ascent allows me to control the sway created by the complications of attempting coordination of carrying weight beyond that of my body. Of course, all loads must be minimal. I might, for example, need three trips to carry the contents of one bag of groceries.
I believe I will able to experiment with heavier loads with a backpack that centers upon my body. I'm not ready for that yet, however. The more weight I lose, the more body control I can exercise. I was 245. Now, I'm 198. I'm shooting for 185-to 188. When I reach 185-to-188, I'll be able experiment more with carrying loads.
When I simply can't carry any loads, including my body, I utilize my wheelchair. The wheelchair ramp works great.

WHAT WILL BEST HELP US CLIMB OUT OF CHALLENGING, FRUSTRATING, POTENTIALLY-DEPRESSING SITUATIONS?
1. We come from Nature and a Living Planet. Please utilize her tremendous knowledge. Study Nature documentaries and critters' movements, live if possible. Every critter utilizes different ambulatory skills. Learning from critters' movements will definitely help your return from brain damage. I can't walk, for example, but, for my Healing from 12 head and brain surgeries, I count on the continued existence of these powerful Sacred Spirit Guides. Now, populations of these Healers dwindle to mere hundreds!
2. Study and Learn from human mountaineers. Ask them as many questions as needed. I had a mountaineer come to my home and help me locate the strongest, best handholds and foot support. Mountaineers are brilliant and indispensable to those of us relearning to move.
Mountaineer movies make me sick. Due to my extreme nausea and dizziness, I simple can't watch them. But, if you can handle them, watch! Forget the "Man Conquers Nature" crap-We tried that and we blew it.
Go for the informative documentaries, featuring real human mountaineers and real Wild critters that have carefully developed skills far beyond yours and offer their Knowledge humbly. Knowledgeable, respectful information from humans and critters alike is readily available through inter-library loan videos and ethical commercial outlets.
3. Attend a local Mountaineers' Club. Ask for help, They'll be delighted, cause everyone else thinks they're nuts.
4. Fight to protect Endangered Species! Wolverines and Wolves are the best straight-up climbers in North America. Mountain Sheep, Mountain Goat, Fisher, Marten, and Pika are some of the best high mountain rock walkers in North America.
Biologically-ignorant Potomac politicians, led by anti-environment U.S. Sen. Jon Tester (Montana) have now removed wolves from the Endangered Species List, guaranteeing their extinction! Tester's is the first denial of all protections for an endangered species.
Wolves, wolverines, lynx, marten and all other endangered predators are pivotal to the biological health of the few remaining non-industrialized National Forests, National Grasslands, and other undisturbed wildlands.
Taxpayer-subsidized fracking, oil drilling, overgrazing (yes, the Forest Service actually IMPORTS lamb chops and beefsteaks into National Forest wildlands just to kill all predators), open-pit mining, logging, and all other U.S. Forest Service-encouraged industrialization JEOPARDIZE ALL REMAINING PUBLICLY-OWNED (THAT'S YOU!) After almost two centuries of uncontrolled leg-hold trapping, which force the individual to chew his/her leg off; there are perhaps 200 Wolverines left in the northwest United States. Yet, Animal Damage Control, evil twin of the U.S. Forest Services, tosses hand grenades into wolverine and wolf dens to blow up pups and Mothers.
Wolves are extremely family-oriented; far more so than humans. If the Forest Service hasn't already killed the pups' Father with snipers shooting from helicopters; the Family Patriarch must quietly and mournfully observe the insane, wholly unnecessary, obliteration of his beloved mate who would not desert their children at the slaughter's beginning.
All this murder and sadness because the Forest Serviced is so evil and stupid that it deliberately imports lamb chops and steaks into the wolves' Homes and habitat.
These taxpayers'- subsidized criminal (violating the Endangered Species Act) murders of OUR OWN ENDANGERED PUBLIC WILDLIFE on OUR OWN ENDANGERED PUBLIC WILDLANDS proceed in secret; with NO public information and NO permission from taxpayers and the Nation's public landholders (THAT'S YOU!).
